3 Steps to Master Delegation and Multiply Your Influence & Impact as a Leader

Del-e-gate, good times c’mon!

With apologies to Kool & The Gang, why do many managers have trouble delegating well?

I get it. Delegation takes effort. It does take time. You feel like you’re giving up all the control but keeping all the accountability. There’s often a lot at stake, and, if not done well, you will end up disappointed in the result you get or, even worse, have to intervene and redo work you thought you got off your plate.

Now, if this is your perspective on delegation, you’re likely reinforcing your beliefs that:
● You can get it done faster
● Nobody can do things as well as you can
● You have to micro-manage your team in order to get things done

Do you know what holding onto these beliefs is costing you?
● You’re sacrificing your own effectiveness
● Even if you can “do” it faster, when will you get it?
● If you’re able to get to it, what’s going to slip?
● Your team will not develop new skills and knowledge
● And, your team won’t gain scale and ever grow beyond your own capacity

I believe you have to “Delegate to Elevate” your own and your team’s performance.

So, how do you delegate effectively, free up your own capacity for the work YOU should be doing, and make sure that your team has everything it needs to execute flawlessly?
